Temperament
Playful, mischievous and fond of being carried around in a pocket or shirt. Green-cheeks are notably quieter than Aratinga conures, which makes them one of the few parrots genuinely workable in an apartment. They are not strong talkers; a small, gravelly vocabulary is typical.
Care
Undemanding by parrot standards but still a real commitment for two or three decades. Pelleted diet with fresh vegetables, daily out-of-cage time, and rotating toys will cover most of it. They are prone to becoming nippy if handling lapses, so consistency matters more than intensity.
Notes
Widely bred in colour mutations including yellow-sided, cinnamon, pineapple and turquoise. These are selective breeding outcomes and carry no difference in temperament, whatever a seller may suggest.
